Already registered in some countries? Moving your EPR to Eldris

Summary

Yes. Tell Eldris before you pay, by replying to your quote; the portal then asks for your existing numbers country by country. The price does not change, except that a Spanish NIF you hold removes the NIF charge. A takeover of an existing contract is quoted separately.

Your EPR price, by email

What would EPR registration cost you?

Two questions. The price appears as you choose, from the same price list as our quote tool. We email you the full quotation as a PDF.

Yes. Tell Eldris before you pay, by replying to your quote. The portal then asks for your existing registration numbers country by country, to avoid a duplicate. The representative is not sold on its own: each country is bought as the full package. Taking over an existing representative or scheme contract is quoted separately. Otherwise being registered already does not change the price, and a Spanish NIF you already hold means no NIF charge. Each country keeps its own register: under Regulation (EU) 2025/40, Article 44(4), a producer registers before placing packaging on that country's market.

When to tell Eldris, and what to put in the reply

Before you pay, by replying to your quote. Name each country and stream you already hold, and the provider that holds the representative or scheme contract today. Payment finalises the order under the terms, so a correction belongs before it.

For each country, a useful reply names the registered stream, the registration number, your scheme and the provider acting as your representative. Then say what you want from Eldris there: a new registration where you hold none, or a takeover of what you have. Mention any marketplace deadline too, with the market and the date. A country you already cover and want to keep elsewhere can simply come out of the quote. To add or remove a country before you pay, build a new quote in the calculator, or reply and say so. The reason to do this first is contractual. Once payment is made the order is final. Fees are then refunded only if Eldris fails to deliver what was bought, as section 6.3 of the terms sets out. That is why the reply belongs on the quote thread.

How the portal keeps track of what you already hold

After payment, the portal asks for your existing numbers country by country, in each register's own terms. It asks so that nothing is registered twice by mistake. A number you leave out cannot serve that purpose, so give every one you hold.

The questions follow each register. For Germany the portal asks for your LUCID number and any German WEEE or battery registration number. Its note says an existing German registration can be transferred to Eldris as authorised representative. For Spain it asks for your register numbers and whether you already hold a Spanish NIF. For France it asks for your IDU, the unique identifier, because one exists per stream: packaging, electrical equipment and batteries each have their own. In Poland one BDO number covers every stream, and a new stream is added to it rather than registered again. In Austria an existing GLN must be reused. For Ireland the portal asks for your producer register number or Repak membership, and for Italy your CONAI and register numbers. Apart from the Spanish NIF question, each of these fields is optional. If you are unsure whether an earlier provider registered you, write that in the field rather than leaving it blank.

Does holding a number already lower the price?

No. Unless an existing contract is taken over, which is quoted separately, being registered already does not change the price of a country. A Spanish NIF you already hold means no NIF charge.

Each line covers the registration with the authority and the scheme, the representative where one is required, and the year's declarations. An existing number does not replace the representative or the declarations. Germany shows why. Registration in LUCID, the German packaging register, is free; what the Germany packaging line charges for is the authorised representative and the dual-system participation. A seller who already holds a LUCID number still needs both, so the price does not drop. The guide for sellers who already hold a LUCID number covers the rest. Spain is the exception, because the NIF is a separate, one-off item that a seller who holds one does not buy again. Third-party charges sit apart. Scheme memberships, authority fees and recycling contributions are passed through at cost and are the same whichever provider you use. Their published tariffs are on the scheme and authority fees page, and every Eldris line is on the pricing page.

Why the representative is not offered on its own

Eldris sells each country as a full package: the registration, the representative where the law requires one, and the declarations. A representative alone, beside a scheme account and declarations you keep with someone else, is not offered.

The law decides when a representative is needed. For packaging, a producer established outside a country appoints an authorised representative there under Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (the PPWR), Article 45(3). Batteries follow the same rule under Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, Article 56(3). For electrical equipment, a producer registers through an authorised representative where it is not registered itself, under Directive 2012/19/EU, Article 16(1). Eldris appoints the representative under the power of attorney you sign at onboarding, which names Eldris as your single point of contact. Where a country bills a representative fee separately, the line in your quote shows that fee at cost. A seller who wants to keep an existing scheme account should say so in the reply to the quote. Give the country, the stream and the scheme you belong to now. Where an existing representative or scheme contract would be taken over, that takeover is quoted separately.

Taking over from another provider, and the periods before

Eldris takes over an existing registration by onboarding you for that country and using the logins your previous provider held. Taking over an existing representative or scheme contract is quoted separately, and declarations for past periods stay with the provider that held them.

The same route applies when several countries sit with other providers. Where moving one means taking over a representative or scheme contract, that takeover is quoted separately, so the reply to your quote should list each one. In Germany, for example, your packaging entry may already sit in the LUCID register. Transferring an active LUCID registration is one of the cases Eldris quotes individually, not from the price list. From the takeover onwards Eldris handles the declarations and the correspondence with the authorities for that country. Periods before the takeover are different. A declaration that fell due while another provider held the registration is that provider's to file, including one that was missed. Ask your previous provider to confirm that every past period is filed before the logins pass over, and keep that confirmation with your records. The steps after payment are on the how it works page. This question sits with the others sellers ask on the EPR questions page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move only some of my countries to Eldris?

Yes. Each country and stream is its own line, so you can move some and leave others where they are. Tell Eldris which ones stay with another provider when you reply to your quote, so that the quote covers only the countries you move.

What if I find an old registration after paying?

Add it in that country's portal field, or reply on your quote thread, as soon as you find it. The portal asks for existing numbers so that nothing is registered twice. A number that is never given cannot help with that, which is why the question comes before payment and again in the portal.

Can I keep my French scheme account and use Eldris only as representative?

Not as a representative-only service. Eldris sells France as the full package for each stream. If you hold a representative or scheme contract there, its takeover is quoted separately. Reply to your quote with the stream, your IDU and your current scheme.

Does a takeover change what the scheme charges?

No. Scheme memberships, authority fees and recycling contributions are passed through at cost and are the same whichever provider you use. They are set by the scheme or the authority, and their published tariffs are on the scheme and authority fees page.

Who files a declaration my old provider missed?

The provider that held the registration for that period. Eldris files from the takeover onwards and does not take over periods before it. Ask your previous provider to confirm each past period is filed before the logins pass over.

Do I need a new NIF if I already have one?

No. A Spanish NIF you already hold means your quote carries no NIF charge. Give the number when you reply to your quote. The portal also asks for it, because Spain packaging can only be filed once a NIF exists.
