France

If you sell an electronic product on Amazon.fr, you need WEEE (DEEE) + Packaging (REP emballages) at minimum. Battery EPR applies if the product contains a battery. France also operates EPR for furniture, textiles, toys, sporting goods, and DIY products under the AGEC law — Eldris advises during onboarding if additional streams apply to your product range.

WEEE Onboarding — £995: Full SYDEREP registration with ADEME, eco-organism enrolment (Ecosystem or Ecologic), authorised representative appointment, and delivery of your French UIN (Unique Identifier Number) for Amazon Seller Central upload. One-off fee for France.

Additional WEEE Category — £495: If your products span multiple WEEE categories in France. Most sellers need one category only.

Battery EPR — £795: Registration with Corepile or Screlec. Covers battery type declarations and eco-organism membership. Charged once.

Packaging Setup — £195: Enrolment with Citeo or Leko for packaging EPR. Covers initial volume declaration. Charged once.

Monthly Management — £195/month: Ongoing compliance for France. Includes annual declarations to each eco-organism, eco-contribution fee management, deadline tracking, authority correspondence in French, and certificate management. The monthly fee applies per country.

Broadest EPR scope in Europe: The AGEC law (2020) expanded France's EPR to cover 22 product categories — far more than any other EU country. Beyond WEEE, packaging, and batteries, France mandates EPR for furniture, textiles, toys, sporting goods, DIY products, and single-use plastics.

Visible eco-contribution: France is one of the few EU countries where the eco-contribution must be shown separately on invoices. This is not optional — it is a legal requirement. Eldris provides the per-product eco-contribution figures for your invoicing.

Eco-organism system: Unlike Germany's authority-run register, France uses competing eco-organisms (Ecosystem, Ecologic) to manage WEEE collection and recycling. Eldris selects the most appropriate eco-organism for your product categories and volumes.

Upon registration with SYDEREP, producers receive a Unique Identifier Number (UIN) — the French equivalent of Germany's WEEE-Reg.-Nr. The UIN is the registration number you provide to Amazon.fr for compliance verification. Each EPR stream (WEEE, batteries, packaging) generates its own UIN.

Amazon France validates UINs against the SYDEREP database. Invalid or missing UINs result in listing restrictions. Eldris delivers your UINs to your dashboard immediately upon ADEME confirmation, formatted for Seller Central upload.

French eco-organisms operate on an annual declaration cycle. Producers must submit their annual market data — units and weight of products placed on the French market — to each eco-organism by the deadline specified in their membership agreement, typically in the first quarter following the reporting year.

Late declarations result in penalty fees from the eco-organism and potential referral to ADEME for enforcement action. Eldris tracks all French reporting deadlines, prepares declarations from your sales data, submits them to each eco-organism, and confirms receipt.
