WEEE EPR in Greece is mandatory under Greek Law 4819/2021 and the national producer-responsibility framework supervised by EOAN (the Hellenic Recycling Agency). Producers placing electrical equipment, batteries or packaged goods on the Greek market must enrol in EOAN's National Producer Register (EMPA) and contract a collective scheme for each stream. EPR registration in Greece costs £570 for Packaging, £495 for WEEE and £450 for Battery with Eldris — a one-off annual fee, never monthly. Pan-EU Amazon sellers whose stock reaches Greek customers carry the obligation directly; without an EMPA registration number, Greek fulfilment is non-compliant. The EMPA Register as Your Greek EPR Identity

Greece centralises producer registration in EOAN's National Producer Register, known as EMPA. Registration issues a unique producer number that proves you are enrolled, while membership of a collective producer-responsibility system — HERRCO for packaging, AFIS or Appliances Recycling for batteries and WEEE — discharges the physical recovery duty behind it.

An EMPA number is country-specific and cannot be replaced by an Italian, German or any other EU registration. Eldris secures the EMPA registration and the relevant collective-scheme memberships, then delivers the confirmation formatted for Amazon Seller Central upload.

Greek Reporting Cycles and Deadlines

Greek producer responsibility runs on annual declarations to the collective schemes and EOAN. Producers report the quantities and weight of electronics, batteries and packaging placed on the Greek market for the previous year, and HERRCO, AFIS and the WEEE scheme calculate recovery contributions from those figures.

Is the fee annual or monthly?

Each registration line is one payment a year, per country. There is no monthly billing. Each registration runs for 12 months from the date that country is registered and renews at the same price (Terms, section 5). Government, authority and scheme fees are passed through at cost, never marked up.

No. Greek producer responsibility is a separate national registration in EOAN's EMPA register. A German WEEE-Reg.-Nr. or an Italian RAEE number is not valid in Greece. Eldris reuses your existing business data to file the Greek registration without a second onboarding form.

What is the EMPA register and EOAN?

EOAN is the Hellenic Recycling Agency, Greece's producer-responsibility regulator, and EMPA is the National Producer Register it maintains. Every producer placing electronics, batteries or packaging on the Greek market must hold an EMPA registration number. Eldris files the EMPA entry and the matching collective-scheme memberships.

Do non-EU sellers need an Authorised Representative in Greece?

Yes, if they sell directly to consumers there. A seller established outside Greece appoints an authorised representative in Greece for packaging (Regulation (EU) 2025/40, Article 45(3)) and for batteries (Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, Article 56(3)); for electronics it registers there through an authorised representative where it is not registered itself (Directive 2012/19/EU, Article 16(1)).
