WEEE EPR in Latvia is mandatory under the Latvian Waste Management Law and the regulations on electrical equipment, which transpose the EU WEEE Directive. Producers placing electronics or batteries on the Latvian market must be recorded in the Elektroregistrs (the electrical-equipment register) operated by LETERA, while packaging obligations are met through a recovery operator such as Latvijas Zaļais punkts. Pan-EU Amazon sellers whose stock reaches Latvian customers carry the obligation directly; without an Elektroregistrs entry, Latvian fulfilment is non-compliant. The Elektroregistrs as Your Latvian EPR Identity

Latvia records producers of electrical equipment and batteries in the Elektroregistrs, maintained by LETERA (the Latvian electrical-equipment producers' association) under the State Environmental Service. The register entry proves enrolment, while a recovery operator such as Latvijas Zaļais punkts handles the physical collection and the exemption from the natural-resources tax behind it.

A Latvian Elektroregistrs entry is country-specific and cannot be replaced by a Lithuanian GPAIS, Estonian Problemtoodete or German registration even inside a Baltic Pan-EU footprint. Each registration line is one payment a year, per country. There is no monthly billing. Each registration runs for 12 months from the date that country is registered and renews at the same price (Terms, section 5). Government, authority and scheme fees are passed through at cost, never marked up.

No. Latvian producer responsibility is a separate national registration in the Elektroregistrs. A Lithuanian GPAIS registration or a German WEEE-Reg.-Nr. is not valid in Latvia. Eldris reuses your existing business data to file the Latvian registration without a second onboarding form.

What is the Elektroregistrs and LETERA?

The Elektroregistrs is Latvia's register of electrical-equipment and battery producers, administered by LETERA — the Latvian electrical-equipment producers' association — under the State Environmental Service. Do non-EU sellers need an Authorised Representative in Latvia?

Yes, if they sell directly to consumers there. A seller established outside Latvia appoints an authorised representative in Latvia for packaging (Regulation (EU) 2025/40, Article 45(3)) and for batteries (Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, Article 56(3)); for electronics it registers there through an authorised representative where it is not registered itself (Directive 2012/19/EU, Article 16(1)).
