The BDO System in Poland

EPR in Poland is managed through the BDO, a centralized digital infrastructure. Producers of electronics must hold a unique BDO registration number which acts as your license to sell. This covers your hardware (WEEE), any power cells (Battery EPR), and the shipping materials (Packaging EPR). Eldris ensures your BDO account is correctly balanced across all three waste streams.

Eldris Polish Service Fees

Eldris registers each Polish EPR stream for a one-off annual fee — there is no monthly billing. Every fee covers BDO registration, arrangement of an approved recovery organisation, authorised-representative appointment, delivery of your BDO number for Amazon, and the annual volume declarations. Marshal's Office (Urząd Marszałkowski)

While GIOS (Chief Inspectorate) sets the policy, the actual registration is handled by the Marshal's Office of the relevant region. Eldris manages all correspondence with these regional authorities, ensuring your application is technically sound and approved without the typical delays associated with Polish administrative reviews. In 2026, Poland has completed its BDO system upgrade with mandatory electronic waste transfer documentation (KPO) for all registered producers, and GIOS has introduced new penalty thresholds for late annual declarations — fines now start at PLN 5,000 for missed March 15th reporting deadlines.

Authorised Representation in Poland

For non-Polish entities, the law mandates the appointment of an Authorised Representative (AR) to be legally responsible for BDO obligations. Eldris provides this AR service as part of your core Polish compliance, protecting your business from the complex legal liabilities of the Polish Waste Act.

Is the fee annual or monthly?

Each registration line is one payment a year, per country. There is no monthly billing. Each registration runs for 12 months from the date that country is registered and renews at the same price (Terms, section 5). Government, authority and scheme fees are passed through at cost, never marked up.

How long does EPR registration in Poland take?

Average time to register in Poland, from our price list: packaging 4–6 weeks; WEEE (electronics) and batteries 9–13 weeks. The clock starts when we have your documents and signed power of attorney. These are averages, not guarantees.

Can I use my German WEEE number in Poland?

No. EPR registration is strictly national. Your German Stiftung EAR registration is not valid in Poland. You must have a unique Polish BDO number.

What is BDO?

BDO is Poland's central electronic waste database. Your BDO number must be clearly displayed on your invoices and is required by Amazon.pl for listing verification.

Does Amazon Pay on Behalf cover Poland?

No. You must have your own BDO number. Amazon cannot satisfy the Polish Waste Act on your behalf through automated fee collection.

What reporting is required in Poland?

Annual reporting is required by March 15th for the previous calendar year. Eldris prepares and submits these BDO declarations electronically on your behalf.

Can I add Poland to my existing plan?

Yes. For existing Eldris clients, we reuse the company data already on file for the BDO application. Poland is charged as a one-off annual fee per EPR stream — there is no monthly billing. See the Poland pricing table above for the per-stream fees.

Where are the sellers on Amazon's EU marketplaces based?

The Sellers Index, Eldris's own record of Amazon sellers, covers Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it, Amazon.es and Amazon.co.uk, not the Amazon store for Poland. On the four EU marketplaces, 66.9% of the 54,325 sellers found with a recorded country had a business address outside the EU (last seen December 2025 to March 2026).
