WEEE (electronics) EPR in Sweden is mandatory for any producer placing electrical or electronic equipment on the Swedish market under the Producer Responsibility Ordinance (2014:1075). If you sell a mains-powered or battery-powered product on Amazon.se, you must register for WEEE at minimum, add Battery EPR where the product contains or ships with batteries, and hold Packaging EPR for the box, fillers and labels. Sweden treats the marketplace seller as the producer when no Swedish-established entity places the goods first, so foreign Amazon sellers carry the obligation directly. Producers register in Naturvårdsverket's producentregister (the EE- and battery register), which issues the producer registration confirmation Amazon checks against. Producers report the quantity and weight of electronics, batteries and packaging placed on the Swedish market for the previous calendar year, typically due in the first quarter. El-Kretsen and FTI calculate recycling contributions from these figures.
