WEEE EPR in the United Kingdom is mandatory under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 for any producer placing electrical or electronic equipment on the UK market, and is met by joining an Environment Agency-approved producer compliance scheme (PCS). EPR registration in the UK costs £150 one-off per year for WEEE with Eldris — never monthly. UK packaging is governed by the separate Extended Producer Responsibility for packaging (pEPR) regime under Defra and PackUK: £405 a year for small producers, while large producers are quoted individually because their PackUK disposal fees depend on tonnage. For WEEE, your identity is membership of an Environment Agency-approved producer compliance scheme (for example ERP UK), which registers you with the regulator and issues the evidence Amazon checks against. This is a distinct UK registration and, since Brexit, is wholly separate from any EU registration such as Germany's WEEE-Reg.-Nr.

For packaging, the pEPR regime requires producers above the reporting thresholds to register with the Environment Agency and report packaging data, with base and disposal fees set under PackUK. Small producers register at the fixed yearly price in the table below; large producers, whose fees scale with tonnage, get an individual quote through the get-started form.

Large-producer threshold triggers full pEPR: the bespoke trigger is the large-producer test — supplying 50 tonnes or more of packaging with turnover of £2m or more makes you a large producer, who reports every six months and pays PackUK waste disposal fees; small producers (turnover £1m–£2m with 25–50 tonnes) register and report once a year without disposal fees. Large-producer fees scale with tonnage, so they are quoted individually (gov.uk guidance, updated 19 August 2026).

Post-Brexit separation: the UK runs its own WEEE, battery and packaging regimes entirely outside the EU framework, so an EU registration gives you no UK coverage and vice versa. Eldris registers the UK as a standalone footprint.

UK WEEE producers report the electrical equipment placed on the market through their compliance scheme, typically on annual and quarterly cycles, with the scheme settling recycling obligations on their behalf. UK pEPR requires packaging data reporting — large producers report twice a year and smaller producers annually — with base and disposal fees invoiced under PackUK.
