What You Must Register in Slovakia

WEEE EPR in Slovakia is mandatory under the Waste Act (Act No. 79/2015 Coll.), which transposes the EU WEEE, Battery and Packaging Directives and is supervised by the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. Producers placing electrical equipment, batteries or packaged goods on the Slovak market must enrol in the Register of Producers and contract a producer responsibility organisation (OZV). EPR registration in Slovakia costs £705 for Packaging, £555 for WEEE and £565 for Battery with Eldris — a one-off annual fee, never monthly. Because Slovakia is served through Amazon Pan-EU, sellers shipping into Slovakia carry the obligation directly. The Register of Producers — Your Slovak EPR Identity

Producers are entered on the Ministry of the Environment's Register of Producers and contract an OZV such as SEWA for collection. This register entry is the evidence Amazon checks against — a distinct Slovak identity, equivalent in function to Germany's WEEE-Reg.-Nr. and not interchangeable with a German or Czech number.

What Makes Slovakia Different

The OZV model is central: Slovakia requires every producer to contract a producer responsibility organisation (organizácia zodpovednosti výrobcov, OZV) — SEWA is one OZV covering WEEE, batteries and packaging — alongside the ministry register entry. Both are mandatory before listings are compliant, and Eldris arranges both in one onboarding.

One OZV across all three streams: unlike markets that split WEEE, battery and packaging across separate schemes, SEWA can cover all three, simplifying Slovak compliance. WEEE sits at £555 and Packaging at £705 one-off per year with Eldris.

Authorised Representative for non-EU sellers: Slovakia requires a locally accountable producer, and non-EU sellers must appoint a Slovak Authorised Representative before register enrolment can complete. Eldris includes the AR appointment in the WEEE and battery lines.

Slovak producer responsibility runs on quarterly and annual reporting to the OZV and the ministry. Producers report the quantities and weight of electronics, batteries and packaging placed on the Slovak market, with recovery contributions calculated from those declared masses and feeding the annual reconciliation.

Is the fee annual or monthly?

Each registration line is one payment a year, per country. There is no monthly billing. Each registration runs for 12 months from the date that country is registered and renews at the same price (Terms, section 5). Government, authority and scheme fees are passed through at cost, never marked up.

Can I use my German or Czech EPR number in Slovakia?

No. Slovak producer responsibility is a separate national registration in the Ministry of the Environment's Register of Producers. A German WEEE-Reg.-Nr. or a Czech ASEKOL registration is not valid in Slovakia. Eldris reuses your existing business data to file the Slovak registration without a second onboarding form.

Do non-EU sellers need an Authorised Representative in Slovakia?

Yes, if they sell directly to consumers there. A seller established outside Slovakia appoints an authorised representative in Slovakia for packaging (Regulation (EU) 2025/40, Article 45(3)) and for batteries (Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, Article 56(3)); for electronics it registers there through an authorised representative where it is not registered itself (Directive 2012/19/EU, Article 16(1)). What is an OZV and is SEWA one?

An OZV (organizácia zodpovednosti výrobcov) is a Slovak producer responsibility organisation that handles collection and recycling obligations on behalf of registered producers. SEWA is one OZV covering WEEE, batteries and packaging. Eldris enrols you with SEWA alongside your ministry register entry.

Do I reach Slovakia through Amazon Pan-EU?

Yes. Slovakia is served through Amazon's Pan-EU programme, mainly via Amazon.de. If your Pan-EU stock can be fulfilled to Slovak buyers, you carry a Slovak EPR obligation. Eldris registers Slovakia as part of your wider Pan-EU compliance footprint.
