What You Must Register in Slovenia

WEEE EPR in Slovenia is mandatory under the Environmental Protection Act (ZVO-2) and the decrees on WEEE, batteries and packaging, supervised by the Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO). Producers placing electrical equipment, batteries or packaged goods on the Slovenian market must enter the ARSO producer register and join an authorised joint scheme. EPR registration in Slovenia costs £745 for Packaging, £810 for WEEE and £815 for Battery with Eldris — a one-off annual fee, never monthly. Because Slovenia is served through Amazon Pan-EU, sellers shipping into Slovenia carry the obligation directly. The ARSO Producer Register — Your Slovenian EPR Identity

Producers are entered on the ARSO-administered producer registers and contract an authorised joint scheme for collection. This register entry is the evidence Amazon checks against — a distinct Slovenian identity, equivalent in function to Germany's WEEE-Reg.-Nr. and not interchangeable with a German or Croatian number.

What Makes Slovenia Different

ARSO is both regulator and registrar: Slovenia's Environment Agency (Agencija Republike Slovenije za okolje) supervises producer responsibility and operates the producer registers directly, so the WEEE, battery and packaging entries all run through one state agency. Higher fee tier among the smaller markets: Slovenia carries some of the higher EPR fees of the Pan-EU additions — WEEE at £810 and Packaging at £745 one-off per year with Eldris — reflecting the included Authorised Representative and scheme arrangements.

Authorised Representative for non-EU sellers: Slovenia requires a locally accountable producer, and non-EU sellers must appoint a Slovenian Authorised Representative before register entry can complete. Eldris includes the AR appointment in the WEEE and battery lines.

Slovenian producer responsibility runs on an annual declaration cycle through ARSO. Producers report the quantities and weight of electronics, batteries and packaging placed on the Slovenian market to ARSO and their joint scheme, typically reconciled in the first part of the year, and recovery contributions are calculated from those declared masses.

Is the fee annual or monthly?

Each registration line is one payment a year, per country. There is no monthly billing. Each registration runs for 12 months from the date that country is registered and renews at the same price (Terms, section 5). Government, authority and scheme fees are passed through at cost, never marked up.

Can I use my German or Croatian EPR number in Slovenia?

No. Slovenian producer responsibility is a separate national registration in the ARSO producer register. A German WEEE-Reg.-Nr. or a Croatian FZOEU registration is not valid in Slovenia. Eldris reuses your existing business data to file the Slovenian registration without a second onboarding form.

Do non-EU sellers need an Authorised Representative in Slovenia?

Yes, if they sell directly to consumers there. A seller established outside Slovenia appoints an authorised representative in Slovenia for packaging (Regulation (EU) 2025/40, Article 45(3)) and for batteries (Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, Article 56(3)); for electronics it registers there through an authorised representative where it is not registered itself (Directive 2012/19/EU, Article 16(1)). Do I reach Slovenia through Amazon Pan-EU?
